With Raised Hand

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just magically do something with a flip of a switch and the problem would be solved??? That is how I currently feel with regard to the world of blogging right now. Here I am a college graduate trying to navigate through Blog Land. I am succeeding at times and other times I am just falling flat on my face! Ugh!! Most likely this is how our children feel in our classroom if they can't understand a lick of what we have just taught. As teachers we are here to encourage them to "try" again and again. There are times when I am certain they don't want to do that! For me it is one of those times. Yesterday Classroom Capers awarded me The Lovely Blog Award..I must say I was quite surprised by the gesture.Thank you...what followed though was a day of how to figure out how to award others with the same award...how to post it on my bog, like so many of you have already done. As you can see all of my attempts did not work. I am ready to throw in the towel...however..I would imagine that even for our students it is difficult to ask for help...so I am asking...with my hand raised wildly..."May I have some help?"

  1. I'm still blindly figuring out this whole blogging system too but I can try to help! Email me and let me know if you still have questions! :)

  3. Looks like you got it figured out. Way to persevere, Debbie! :)

I think that being a student and a teacher simultaneously is an invaluable experience that teaches way more than just one or the other at a time does. When I was finishing my Master's, I was teaching my first "real" classroom, and I was able to equate SO many of the lessons to my students because they were suddenly very real and applicable. I commend you for putting yourself in your students' shoes and analyzing their feelings in a classroom. Sounds like you're a great teacher. :)

    1. You are so sweet. Blogging has been a learning experience. I am trying and at times I have even asked my oldest daughter Alex to help. :)
Children really need to realize that it is ok to ask for help. I may even use blogging as a launch for a writing lesson with my students.
